OVERVIEW

As Director of Design Research, Alex ran and built a (part remote) team of anthropologists and designers where she was responsible for $1M of large scale research projects.

 

Projects covered a range of health and impact challenges including former NFL players experience with CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy), people of colours’ historic trauma with healthcare and adverse childhood experiences affecting child health.

Process

During my time at Wondros, one of Alex’s focuses was consistency and quality of our research.

 

To do this, she created and iterated a streamlined process that utilized the best design thinking tools for each timeline and budget, with an emphasis on how strategies are integrated in the final deliverable.

All Children Thrive

An initiative seeking to connect cities with community members and nonprofits in support of child wellness created with UCLA and Public Health Advocates. ACT wanted to better understand the issues that were important for both cities and communities so as to leverage existing knowledge and community experts for programming.

NFL in partnership with University of Pittsburgh

The Brain Health study was focused on defining the prevalence of brain health versus neurodegeneration in living professional football retirees that have sustained traumatic brain injury (TBI) or multiple concussions.

 

Our research was focused on interviews with former NFL players around their experience to help inform on a communications platform for the study.

Promise Prostate Cancer Testing

Promise is an at-home salivary prostate cancer testing product that educates prostate cancer survivors about new treatment options with Precision Medicine. Promise wanted to understand patients and families in order to design their service with offerings for their audience.

Providence Health Care

Health care provider with hospitals in 5 states wanted to better understand their patients using this to craft strategy around how to bring multiple hospital brands under the Providence name.
