THE CHALLENGE

Dallant Networks was creating a closed, trusted social network for the Lumina Foundation. It’s purpose is to connect people and share resources to support the Goal 2025, an initiative to increase the proportion of Americans with high-quality degrees and credentials.

When we came on board, there was no visual design and a no thought put into simplifying the experience of this complex network.

THE SOLUTION

First we created a research and interview plan for user testing in order to better understand the user base and prove usage assumptions.

From here we created a simplified flow informed by the need to have numerous interchangeable widgets on multiple pages. We used this responsive module style to weave together a clean aesthetic and create designs for 5 subsequent pages utilizing a Drupal CMS custom coded platform.

This design was used for MoveED’s platform and as the foundation for a number of other white label networks. GAIN ACME was a placeholder name used for a poverty alleviation network.

The platform is in development and expected to go live in 2015.
